Kaiten sushi restaurant “SUSHIRO” is opening its first U.S. location this fall. The first store will open in the Times Square area of New York City! ~ Bringing the brand perfected in Japan to the world ~

FOOD & LIFE COMPANIES LTD. (Headquarters: Suita City, Osaka Prefecture; President & CEO: Masahiro Yamamoto; hereinafter “F&LC”) is pleased to announce that it will open the first U.S. location of its kaiten sushi restaurant “SUSHIRO” this fall in the Times Square area (8th Avenue and 42nd Street) in Manhattan, New York City, New York.

F&LC continues to expand its overseas operations in pursuit of its vision: “Discovering new tastiness, Sharing moments of joy”. Currently operating stores in 10 countries and regions, including Japan, the company continues to grow and evolve as a global restaurant enterprise originating in Japan by delivering the brand it has refined in Japan directly to customers worldwide. Furthermore, in our “FY24-26 Mid-Term Management Plan,” we have identified “Continuing the Expansion of Overseas Operations and Achieving a 35% Revenue Share” as our top priority, and we are proceeding with store openings in the “Greater China Region,” “East Asia and Southeast Asia,” and “North America and Other Markets.”

Founded in 1984 by a Japanese sushi chef, SUSHIRO has maintained the top spot in annual sales in Japan’s kaiten sushi industry for 14 consecutive years (*) and currently operates 948 locations worldwide (as of the end of April 2026). With the opening of our first location in New York City, we are committed to recreating and delivering the “deliciousness,” enjoyment, and value for money that SUSHIRO has perfected in Japan, and we will strive to create a restaurant that delights as many customers as possible in New York.
