Akindo Sushiro Co., Ltd. Awarded the Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon

Akindo Sushiro Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Suita City, Osaka; President and CEO: Kohei Nii; hereinafter “Sushiro”), a subsidiary of FOOD & LIFE COMPANIES CO., LTD. (Headquarters: Suita City, Osaka; President and CEO: Masahiro Yamamoto; hereinafter “F&LC”), was awarded the Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon on November 22, 2025. This recognition was granted in appreciation of Sushiro’s donation to Owase City, Mie Prefecture, through the corporate version of the “Furusato Nozei” (Hometown Tax Donation) program during the fiscal year ended September 30, 2024, which was conducted as part of its sustainability management initiatives. The presentation ceremony was held on June 12 of this year.

Background of the Award
F&LC has established its VISION as “Discovering new tastess, Sharing moments of joy.” We believe that in order to continue providing safe and delicious food to our customers, it is essential to implement forward-looking, sustainable initiatives in our business activities.

In recent years, as marine fishery resources face a declining trend, “sustainable procurement of seafood” has become a crucial element in our promotion of sustainability management. While ensuring the appropriate use of wild-caught fish, we are also strengthening our focus on aquaculture businesses, which allow for planned and stable procurement.

As part of these efforts, we have been working on various projects in collaboration with Owase Bussan Co., Ltd., an investee company of F&LC that raises yellowtail and red sea bream. Prompted by this partnership, we have been making donations through the corporate version of the “Furusato Nozei” program since 2024 to help protect the rich marine environment of Owase City, Mie Prefecture, where Owase Bussan is locate

Awards for Donations to Other Municipalities (As of June 17, 2026)
F&LC has been making donations to Owase City in Mie Prefecture, Amakusa City in Kumamoto Prefecture, and Asahi Town in Toyama Prefecture since 2023, receiving the Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon a total of four times. This marks the first time we have received the medal specifically for our donation to Owase City.
